If you attain the Bodhisattva path, all kind of knowledge needed to be used for crossing all living beings. Not only single mindedly reciting Buddha name as someone mentioned, Education, Translation, Propagating the Dharma are the expedient. For example Master established DVGS, IGS, SLTP and DRBU to instill the goodness, develop the virtue, training the sangha deportment and developing the inherent wisdom of beings.
