What is the possibility that ghosts exist?
Buddhas, people or ghosts – exist because of cause and condition. They all are made possible from our spiritual nature. If we sow causes for humans, we will reap the result that is humans. If we usually harm others, we will become a ghost. Everything is the cause and effect.

ReplyDeleteLong ago I was involved in the many discussion subjects that people would 'argue' about. The idea behind the arguing is to find some sort of answer through comparing ideas to the question. The "latest" talk about ghosts that I'm familiar with, -and this is a 'Western' (skeptical) perspective goes like this...
ReplyDeleteGhosts are another form of life. We have a parasitical existence with them. We cannot live without them. Them are interconnected to us as we are to them. There is no need to go to a cemetery to find a ghost: you are surrounded by them. Anyway, the proof of ghosts is found arbitrarily. What is needed is a kind of device to reveal them. As of present, we only have people's many experiences and consistent observances from objective and empirical
experiences.
'Spiritual' people may see ghosts as an ability (siddhi=power). Other people see ghosts from being in the most likely place to see them. For example, where a powerful spirit may reside (north end of the 1,2,3 building has one). The girl's dorm has one named, 'rage.' However, it will be a while before a device will be invented to perceive a ghosts. Ghosts have to exist as a something; i.e. they have to have some sort of physical existence based on some sort of material energy. Ghosts cannot exist in nothing. They cannot come out of nothing, -so they have to be made out of 'something.' What that something is has to be a
form of energy by Einstein's theory of relativity: "energy is matter in another state." What this something is is yet to be 'discovered.'
Just as the microscope was discovered 450 years ago, some day a device will "discover"
spiritual phenomena. We will then see that spiritual phenomena are as diverse as the life
in the oceans. They are as huge and titanic as whales to being tiny and microscopic as germs. Until that time only those who use their body as an instrument will be able to perceive them. Self control and the ability to train the body to be an instrument to perceive the 'spiritual' realm is a domain of those who practice some sort of spiritual discipline.
