Shr Fu's teachings and elaborate explanations about Guan Yin have made an enormous spiritual impact upon both me and my family. When my wife was born she was dedicated to Guan Yin so she was always respected even during periods when Buddhism was not closely followed. However, Master Hua's teachings of how Guan Yin crosses over between religions and is not just a Buddhist icon or saint demonstrates the immense significance of honouring Guan Yin. He explained that Guan Yin is everywhere and is nowhere, is male and female, eastern and western, of all religions and no religions and hears the cries of all beings. By invoking the name of Guan Yin PuSa for our needs and completely understanding that we are being heard removes fear, stress and misunderstandings as we go through our experiences here in the saha world. My wife has even now accepted the Virgin Mary as not "just" a Catholic saint, but is in effect, Guan Yin PuSa, her patron.
The enormity of the Guan Yin sessions is an indication of the acknowledged power of this Buddha/Boddhisattva. By chanting Guan Yin's name during any stressful situation will almost immediately calm the situation enabling the right results to occur. Compassion and love are the emotions which replace stress and fear. This has happened to me many times. As Master Hua taiught, chanting Namo Guan Shr Yin PuSa calms people, animals and even the environment.
Master Hsuan Hua's love of Guan Yin is evident in his writings and lectures and this feeling is transmitted to everyone and everything whether in hearing range or not.
